SAP S/4HANA is the successor to SAP R/3 ERP. With SAP S/4HANA, you can choose between an on-premise or a cloud solution.
There are two important modules for purchasing: S/4HANA Sourcing & Procurement and S/4HANA Central Procurement.
The Sourcing & Procurement (S&P) module is the successor to SAP ERP MM. New here are the user-friendly Fiori apps, which largely replace the SAP GUI. In addition, there are more useful reporting functions for purchasing via Fiori apps.
In addition, there is the Central Procurement (CP) module, which enables centralized purchasing and allows centralized requests, orders, and contracts across multiple SAP ERP systems.
In addition, CP offers central reporting functions for multiple connected SAP ERP systems. This makes Central Procurement, together with Sourcing & Procurement, a potential successor to SAP SRM alongside the SAP Ariba Suite.
Another function of CP is its ability to serve as a connection between an SAP Ariba system and multiple SAP ERP systems.
